Pomegranate

Published November 20, 2014 by M. Natalia Arocho

Ripe and red

The inside ready for tasting

Penetrating the inside with mouth, teeth, tongue,

juices overflowing from the fruit.

So innocent and harmless yet so dark on the inside,

red with desire.

Once tasted, so hard to return to the light.

Finding it’s sweetness that you never thought it would have,

yet so glad to remain in its dark red recesses

and succumb to the unearthly joy of the nether world

that belongs to the pomegranatepomogranate.
